Bartz Exit Interview: Yahoo ‘F—ed Me Over'

The "awesomness" of Carol Bartz doesn't end with her tenure at Yahoo.

The notoriously foul-mouthed CEO has given her first interview since being pushed out as Yahoo's leader Tuesday.

She tells Fortune that her house has been surrounded by media members since she was fired and ultimately her dismissal had to do with with the company's lack of revenue growth. Bartz said that was coming in 2012.

Bartz confirmed that she was fired over the phone by Yahoo chairman Roy Bostock while she was in New York City speaking at Citigroup's technology conference.

From Fortune:

"I called him at 6:06," she recalls. When he got on the line, she says, he started reading a lawyer's prepared statement to dismiss her.

"I said, 'Roy, I think that's a script,'" adding, "'Why don't you have the balls to tell me yourself?'"

When Bostock finished reading, Bartz didn't argue—"I got it. I got it," she told the Yahoo chairman. "I thought you were classier," she added.

Keeping with her reputation, Bartz goes on to say that Yahoo's board "f----d me over."

Bartz said she sent the email to her employees to take the dismissal in her own hands. She also says she plans on keeping her seat on Yahoo's board.

That might be difficult considering she also called the board a bunch of "doofuses."
