Campbell police are trying to piece together how a body ended up in a storage unit at an apartment complex on Kuehnis Drive.

At about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, a neighbor called the fire department after seeing smoke coming out of a storage unit. Firefighters quickly put out the fire and found a body inside the unit.

Police say it is an "undetermined death" and they do not think it is a homicide.

"We don't think this is suspicious," said Campbell Police Sgt. Gary Berg. "Really, we're working with the fire and police to determine what led up to the fire and the death."

The investigation is still underway. Arson investigators are trying to determine if the fire was intentionally set. Police are interviewing neighbors.

They say the body is an adult, but will not release an age or gender at this time.
