The trail of a missing woman leads from Sacramento to San Jose. Police are following the trail of credit cards of a woman who has been missing since last month. The last time anyone saw her was on Santana Row on Aug. 9th.
Where is Viktoriya Ioffe?
That's what her family and Rocklin police near Sacramento would like to know.
The last time anyone saw the 35-year-old Russian woman was at San Jose's Santana Row on Aug. 9. Employees at Vera Bradley purse store say they remember her attending their open house wearing an orange dress. They say she walked in alone, but they don't remember seeing her leaving. Rocklin investigators say Ioffe was also seen at the Peet's Coffee at Santana Row. They've been tracking her credit card and ATM accounts every day.
"We were able to use her credit card and checks to see where she was," Lt. Lon Milka told NBC Bay Area by phone on Tuesday night. "But, there hasn't been any activity since that date of the 9th of August when she was reported missing."
Ioffe's car was found in a Santana Row parking lot. Her laptop was inside. Detectives say Ioffe's bag containing her cell phone and wallet were found in a store. When Ioffe did not show up for work, her family called police.
"Her mother became very concerned cause she hadn't heard from her either and notified Rocklin Police Department and filed out a Missing Person's Report," Milka said.
Investigators say Ioffe is from Rocklin, a town 23 miles northeast of Sacramento. They say she's a pharmacist at a Walgreens in nearby Auburn. Detectives say Ioffe and her mother talk a few times a week but no one has heard from her since last month.
"She hasn't been with anybody so this is a real confusing case for us as to why she hasn't made contact with her family since the beginning of August," Milka said.
Police told NBC Bay Area, Ioffe was staying at a La Quinta Inn near Mineta San Jose International Airport and ate a meal at a nearby Burger King. Detectives say as far as the family knows Ioffe does not have any friends in the Bay Area.
"We have no information that the family was aware that she was in San Jose. We don’t believe the family has any relatives in San Jose at all. So it’s really strange as to why this individual who has a really good work history why she would be in the Bay Area," Lt. Milka said.
Ioffe is five foot six and about 135 pounds. She has a visible gap between her front teeth. She speaks with a Russian accent. Because she left Rocklin on her own, the police are treating this as a missing person case. If you have any information, please call Rocklin police.
