Pedestrian Killed on Caltrain Tracks in Mountain View

The Caltrain tracks through Mountain View have reopened in both directions following a collision that killed a man on Thursday, according to Caltrain.

The southbound track reopened just before 7 p.m. and Caltrain is working to restore regular service, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn.

Trains have been traveling on a single northbound track through the area since about 5:10 p.m. and passengers should expect continued delays.

Southbound Train 156 struck and killed a male adult pedestrian around 4:30 p.m. just south of the Mountain View Station under the state Highway 237 overpass.

Dunn said it appears that the death was an "intentional act," but the coroner will make the final determination.
