Tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, CA

After surfacing in 2000 with the breakthrough single "Yellow," Coldplay quickly became one of the biggest bands of the new millennium, honing a mix of introspective Brit-pop and anthemic rock that landed the British quartet a near-permanent residence on record charts world-wide.

AT&T Carnival

How about taking in a County Fair Giants-style? AT&T Park has turned the parking lot across from McCovery Cove into midway central. The fair runs through Sunday. Tonight is fireworks night, so if you missed out on July 4, here is your chance to catch up on the beautiful art display in the sky.

Tickets are $5 to get in. $20 more will get you unlimited rides. Here's the link for more information.

Alameda County Fair

Want a little more real estate than Parking Lot A will get you in San Francisco? You can go to a "real" fair at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. This one will cost you a little more. Parking is $8. Entrance is $10 and unlimited rides will cost you $25. Today is the only day the fair is closed in its 19 day run. Tomorrow, things are back in action with the headlining act a "Tribute to Journey"

THAT'S RAW: Sushi is great, but it's expensive enough to keep you restrained to just a few pieces. Luckily, Ozumo Oakland has a special $30 all-you-can-eat sushi menu tonight from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

SLOW AND STEADY: Indie rock band Tortoise is playing at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco tonight along with indie/ Nu Jazz band Pit er Pat. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.

WE LOVE TILDA: Watch director Erick Zonca's "Julia," with a fantastic performance by Tilda Swinton as an alcoholic who gets caught up in a kidnapping scheme. The movie starts at 1:05 p.m., 4:05 p.m, 7:05 p.m. and 9:55 p.m. at Sundance Kabuki 8 Cinema in San Francisco.
