Kearny Street Workshop is hosting APAture 2017: Unravel, a multi-day festival featuring 60+ up and coming Asian Pacific American (APA) artists in Comics and Illustration, Film, Literary Arts, Music, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.
This year's theme, Unravel is focused on exploring Asian Pacific American cultures and hxstories interconnected by the arts. Attendees have the opportunity to experience multidisciplinary art showcases featuring original artists.
Kearny Street Workshop is honoring five artists for their inspiring breakthrough as Asian
Pacific American artists and using their unique platform amplify the APA community's voice. Ali Wong (Comedian | Baby Cobra), Hasan Minhaj (Actor/Comedian | The Daily Show), Kristina Wong (Comedian/Performance Artist | New York Times Off Color series), Michael Arcega (Visual Artist | Guggenheim Fellow) and the late, great Justin Chin (Poet | Gutted, 98 Wounds) are celebrated with the APAture Focus Award.
