6:31 p.m.: The Democratic Party will keep control of the U.S. Senate, NBC News projects. This comes after Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto won her re-election bid in the U.S. Senate race in Nevada.

Wednesday Nov. 9

12:39 p.m. Brooke Jenkins declared victory for her position as San Francisco district attorney.

11 a.m. A majority of San Francisco voters have rejected Proposition I, which would have reopened JFK Drive to cars.

10:15 a.m. Robert Jonsen appears on track to become Santa Clara County's next sheriff.

1:01 a.m. Incumbent Brooke Jenkins took an early lead in the race for San Francisco District Attorney Tuesday night. But the race is not over at this time.

12:56 a.m. Race for Santa Clara County Sheriff is still too close to call at this hour.

The much-anticipated race in Santa Clara County, where voters must decide who will replace Sheriff Laurie Smith, continues. Robert Handa reports.

12:55 a.m. Oakland mayor's race is still too close to call at this hour.

The votes are still being counted for the mayor of Oakland where 10 candidates are vying for the job. Velena Jones spoke to the one leading the pack as of 11:30 p.m., Loren Taylor.

12:53 a.m. San Jose mayor's race is still too close to call at this hour.

There was an incredibly close race for San Jose mayor Tuesday night with Matt Mahan ahead of Cindy Chavez by a hair as of 11:30 p.m. Stephanie Magallon and Damian Trujillo have the latest from both candidate’s watch parties.

11:39 p.m. Oakland low rent housing Measure Q is currently passing, with over 70% of the vote.

11:14 p.m. Santa Clara mayor's race is still too close to call at this hour.

9:51 p.m. NBC News projects John Fetterman (D) will win the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania, defeating Dr. Mehmet Oz (R).

9:30 p.m. No projected winner yet in the San Francisco district attorney's race. DA Brooke Jenkins, who currently leads, addressed supporters at an Election Night campaign party.

9:03 p.m. San Mateo County Supervisor David Canepa has conceded in California's Congressional District 15 race after initial election results show that his opponent Kevin Mullin is the early leader in the race.

8:45 p.m. NBC News projects California Proposition 1 will pass, while Proposition 26 and Proposition 27 both will fail.

8:39 p.m. Rob Bonta wins re-election as California attorney general, NBC News projects.

8:30 p.m. Alex Padilla wins re-election to California's U.S. Senate, NBC News projects.

8:17 p.m. Gavin Newsom wins re-election in California's governor's race, NBC News projects.
