The latest Alice Waters apostle to head up a restaurant is Nicci Tripp, who has taken over Vida down in Santa Cruz. But something tells us that for better or worse, Vida doesn't exactly abide religiously to the Panisse mold, what with the flaming fundido and "throne-sized, crimson-upholstered booths." [SCS]
