7/14: Bastille Day, Blonde Redhead, and a Carnival

There's lots of events going on around the Bay tonight

AT&T Carnival: How about taking in a County Fair Giants-style?  AT&T Park has turned the parking lot across from McCovey Cove into midway central.  The fair runs through Sunday. Tickets are $5 to get in.  $20 more will get you unlimited rides. Here's the link for more information.

Alameda County Fair: Want a little more real estate than Parking Lot A will get you in San Francisco? You can go to a "real" fair at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.  This one will cost you a little more.  Parking is $8. Entrance is $10 and unlimited rides will cost you $25. Be sure to see the headlining act a "Tribute to Journey." Here's the link to this fair.

HAPPY BASTILLE DAY: French-themed events will be taking place around the Bay today, but be sure to check out the processional and European-style circus performance at San Jose's Santana Row. Performances begin at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.  

I'M BLUE: Listen to Blues Traveler and Big Head Todd & The Monsters tonight at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $59.50, $50, or $45 depending on where you want to sit. 

WOULD YOU LIKE FRIES WITH THAT?: Stacy Perman will discuss her new book, "In-N-Out Burger: A Behind-the-Counter Look at the Fast-Food Chain that Breaks All the Rules." The talk starts at 7:30 p.m. at Books Inc. in Mountain View. Animal-style double-double not included.

BLONDE REDHEAD: See the band often compared to early Sonic Youth tonight at the Independent in San Francisco. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $27.
