Two Dead in Plane Crash Near Auburn Airport

An FAA Official said that the Cessna 170 plane crashed in a wooded area about a mile south of the airport at 9:10 p.m. Saturday.

Two people are dead after a small plane crashed near Auburn Municipal Airport Saturday night, officials said.


An Federal Aviation Administration Official said that the Cessna 170 plane crashed in a wooded area about a mile south of the airport at 9:10 p.m. Saturday.

The crashed plane was found at 1:45 a.m. by California Highway Patrol officers. The two people inside the plane, who have not yet been identified, were dead.


The FAA said it did still not know why the plane had crashed.
