Man Struck By Lightning at Fresno County Oil Field

Officials say a man was struck by lightning while looking for work at a Central California oil field.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office reported Friday that nobody saw lightning strike the 36-year-old man who was found unconscious just after 11 a.m. He had an entry wound near his left armpit and exit wounds on his feet. Officials say the injuries lead them to believe lightning struck the unidentified man, who remains under medical treatment.

The sheriff's office says that workers in western Fresno County found the unconscious man and called deputies.

He was taken to a hospital in Fresno.
