7 Rescued From Boat Taking on Water in Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta

Seven people, including four children, were rescued from a boat taking on water in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta Saturday morning, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials said.

A Confire rescue boat crew was training near Sherman Island about 11:45 a.m. when they were flagged down by people in a nearby vessel, according to Confire.

The 20-foot Sea Ray was taking on water, and the three adults and four children aboard were rescued, Confire officials said.

No one was injured in the incident. What caused the boat to take on water was unknown. The U.S. Coast Guard also responded to the incident.
