Austin's Franklin Barbecue Pops Up in San Francisco

A popular Texas barbecue institution is preparing to give San Francisco a little taste.

Eater SF reports that Aaron Franklin, owner of Franklin Barbecue in Austin, will bring his magic brisket and other delights to the loading dock of Magnolia Brewery and Smokestack in San Francisco for pop-up meals on May 9-10.

Franklin's hours-long lines have been the subject of much media attention, including a profile on Anthony Bourdain's television series No Reservations.

The pop-up appearances in San Francisco are expected to be in similarly heavy demand and are expected to sell out very quickly when tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Franklin Barbecue: A Meat-Smoking Manifesto was published by San Francisco book company Ten Speed Press on April 7.
