Child Care Worker Busted on Child Porn Charges

Suspect Christopher Wright also owned dance studio

A former Bay Area child care provider is behind bars on child porn charges.

Vallejo police arrested Christopher Wright, 49, Thursday for suspicion of possessing child pornography.

This is not Wright's first brush with the law in connection to endangering kids -- he was arrested on Nov. 21 in Vallejo for committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14, Vallejo police detective John Garcia said. He was charged by the Solano County District Attorney's Office for those alleged offenses and a trial date is scheduled to be set on May 17.

Police found more than 200 images and 34 video files on Wright's laptop computer during the November investigation, Garcia said. The images showed children between 5 and 16 engaging in sexual acts.

Wright has lived in several Bay Area cities including Vallejo, Alameda and Oakland and he owned the Serendipity dance studio at 1451 Webster St. in Alameda. He also worked as a child care provider.

Vallejo police investigators are concerned there might be additional victims in the Bay Area who have not come forward and they are urging them to contact Vallejo police, Garcia said.

Wright is 5 feet 10 inches, 180 pounds and has brown hair, blue eyes and has a British accent, Garcia said. He is being held in the Solano County jail under $500,000 bail.
