Comedian Katt Williams was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a man outside a hotel in downtown Oakland on Wednesday night, police said today.
Williams, who is scheduled to perform at Oakland's Oracle Arena on Friday night, was arrested after a man told police that he had suffered a head wound during a confrontation with Williams outside the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in the 900 block of Broadway at about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The man was transported to a hospital, where he was treated for his injury, which was not life-threatening. He was later released.
Investigators interviewed Williams and witnesses to the incident, and then released Williams from custody pending further investigation, police said.
