Lanes Reopen on Interstate 880 in Fremont Following Search for Robbery Suspects: Police

Four males were detained by police Thursday following a pursuit that prompted Interstate 880 to be shut down in Fremont.

The incident started when Fremont police spotted a vehicle on the freeway that may have been connected to an armed robbery in Millbrae. Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the occupants fled on foot, police said.

Police at about 3:50 p.m. shut down both directions of I-880 while officers searched for the suspects.

The California Highway Patrol started to reopen lanes shortly after 4 p.m.

No other information was immediately available.
