An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.9 was recorded Friday evening in Alameda County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake was reported at 5:14 p.m. about 2 miles east of Livermore and 8 miles east-northeast of Pleasanton, USGS officials said.
The temblor had a depth of about 2 miles, according to USGS officials.
