Police activity late Tuesday prompted a shelter-in-place order for an area near Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton. The incident involving an intoxicated woman with a knife was resolved about three hours later.
Officers were at the Workday campus located at 6130 Stoneridge Mall Road, where they conducted a car stop on a reported intoxicated female driver who failed to yield then stopped. She then locked herself inside the car alone and was armed with a knife, police said.
After negotiating with the woman for more than two and a half hours, officers took her into custody without incident.
The shopping mall remained open and not under the shelter-in-place order, police said.
No other information was immediately available.
