Registered Sex Offender Arrested in San Jose

San Jose police have filed charges against a registered sex offender after he allegedly made contact with students at Farnham Elementary School.

Police said they began investigating Jeffrey David Minkin, 46, in August after they became aware he visited the school on several occasions without disclosing his registered sex offender status, as required by law.

During their inquiries, detective said they also discovered Minkin also held "sleepovers" at his home that included children.

Although there is no evidence anything inappropriate happened during the slumber parties, police are looking into it.

They arrested Minkin earlier this week.

The San Jose Police Department's Megan's Law Detail is still looking for more information from anyone who could place Minkin at other area schools.   People can call 408-277-4290 or email at sean.morgan@sanjoseca.gov.
