The roof on the garden center of a Kmart in Santa Rosa fell Thursday morning, during heavy rains blanketing the North Bay.
According Santa Rosa Asst. Fire Marshal Paul Lowenthal, emergency responders got a call at 7:45 a.m. about the collapse of the roof at the store on Cleveland Avenue, which, apparently had previous dry rot issues.
With the weight of the rain, firefighters said, the overhang simply fell through. Despite that, the store was open, except for the garden center.
By 9 a.m. Thursday morning, two inches of rain had fallen in Santa Rosa.
No injuries were reported.
NBC Bay Area's John Zuchelli contributed to this report.
