SJ Lottery Winner Wants to Buy Mom a House

Store owners take home $5,000 from lottery.

A San Jose man is the lottery's newest million dollar winner thanks to a $10 scratcher ticket.

Juan T., 21,  says he is an avid lottery player. He bought his ticket at a Pure Water store on Story Road and knew right away he was a winner.

Lottery officials said he went straight home to tell him mom.

Juan is the sixth instant winner since the game started in late September.

When asked what he will do with the money, he said he was going to buy his mom a house and himself a new car. "Maybe a new Corvette," he said.

Lottery officials want us to tell you there are still 25 instant $1 million prizes to be won.

The $10 scratcher is an oversized ticket with a holographic design. To play by trying to match any of “Your Numbers.”

Odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 1.2 million.
