The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal accident involving a bicyclist and a construction truck on Monday morning in Fremont near the Tesla plant.
Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said a female bicyclist was headed south on South Fremont Boulevard and collided with a construction vehicle about 8:30 a.m. She died at the scene.
The CHP issued a Sig-Alert before 9 a.m. on the Fremont Boulevard onramp to northbound Interstate Highway 880. Drivers are encouraged to use the Auto Mall Parkway exits and entrances instead.
Opening the lanes could take up to three hours to re-open.
