Will the Stanford Tree Move to Brooklyn?

From sea to shining sea, Stanford University could soon go coast to coast.

New York City is asking the university to consider creating an engineering school in the Big Apple. New York does not have a top-ranked applied science and research graduate school so it is hoping Stanford or another big name university will fill the void.

Right now 19 schools are in the running to become New York City's engineering school including MIT, Cornell, and Purdue.

Stanford's President says the school will look at the complexity of the project, including financial arrangements, academic considerations and faculty members before making a decision.

The university has until March 16th to tell New York if it is interested.
