Marin's String Of Bus Stop Robberies

Six robberies, one bus stop, one month

People in Marin City are demanding increased security and better lighting near a bus stop after six robberies in one month.

The latest reported crime happened at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, when three men, wearing hooded sweatshirts, allegedly robbed an ice cream vendor at gunpoint near the bus hub on Terners Drive.

A string of robberies has been reported near the bus stop, since the middle of June.

All but two of the reported robberies happened during the evening hours.

County leaders say they're looking at improving lighting and upgrading safety features at the Marin City bus hub.

The Marin I.J. reports the work could start in September and be done by the end of November.
