    RAW: H.E.R.'s Father Discusses R&B Artist's Grammy Awards

    R&B artist H.E.R of Vallejo took home two Grammy Awards. Her father speaks to NBC Bay Area's Jodi Hernandez on the big win and what it means to the Bay Area and her family.

    One of the big winners at the Grammy Awards is the Bay Area's own Gabi Wilson, known to the world as R&B sensation H.E.R.

    Wilson was nominated for five Grammys and walked away with two of the prized awards. The 21-year-old Wilson is from Vallejo and grew up performing all around the Bay Area.

    The award-winning artist thanked her parents at the Grammys "for all the sacrifices you made for me."

    "We were both crying," said Kenny Wilson, H.E.R.'s father said. "We hugged each other and cried. It was one of those moments, like wow, did this really happen?"

    H.E.R.'s journey began when she was just 6 years old and practicing and playing with her father's band

    Friends and family said at 21 years old, H.E.R. is just getting started.
