A pedestrian struck by a hit-and-run driver in Hayward Wednesday died at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley on Thursday, police said.
The pedestrian was a 50-year-old Hayward resident, but his name has not yet been released.
He was struck by a vehicle just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday night while he was on his way to work through a parking garage of a large industrial complex at 2660 West Winton Avenue, police said. Another driver found the victim of the hit-and-run lying on the pavement and soon after the victim was taken to the hospital.
Hayward Police are still collecting information about this collision. They are looking for a vehicle that sustained front bumper and hood damage as well as possible window damage. Anyone with information regarding this hit-and-run should contact Hayward Police Sgt. Jason Corsolini at (510) 293-7149.
