A bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in Sunnyvale Monday morning, public safety officials said.
The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety reported at 8:20 a.m. that the collision occurred at West Fremont and South Mary avenues.
Public safety officials said the incident did not involve any students from nearby schools.
Motorists were encouraged to avoid the area because traffic wasbacked up in all directions, public safety officials said.
