A popular East Bay chiropractor accused of sexually assaulting one of his patients was arrested outside his office Friday.
The website for Steven Moon's Optimized Chiropractic, Inc. promises friendly service and personalized, professional care. However, the 65-year-old is accused of being anything but professional.
Moon was taken into custody around 4 p.m. outside his Concord office on one charge of sexual battery. The arresting officer didn't furnish additional details, but an investigator said the charge stems from a recent incident involving a female patient at the doctor's office.
Investigators are also concerned there may be more victims.

“As a female, I’d be really disturbed knowing that a medical professional could do something,” said Rosa Rodriguez who owns a business nearby.
For her part, Moon’s acquaintance Debbie Heath was stunned.
“He seems very quiet, very nice, very polite, comes in and out of his office,” she said. “He’s here later like I work late – kind of just a regular, quiet, nice guy.”

Moon didn't comment as police handcuffed him and took him to Concord Jail. A member of his staff, however, was shocked to learn what happened. He's an amazing doctor, she said.
A patient, who came to Moon’s office for an appointment Friday evening, only to be greeted by a sign that said the clinic closed due to an emergency, said she has never had any problem in the three or four years he has treated her.
Police did not provide further information about Moon’s bail.
