A two-alarm brush fire that burned a small area near 85th and Edes avenues in East Oakland was contained shortly before noon, fire officials said.
The blaze charred less than an acre near the FedEx facility on Edes. It was first reported about 11:30 a.m. and drew a two-alarm response from firefighters due to high winds, a fire spokesman said.
No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
