A former intern at Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums' office is under investigation for allegedly stealing bank account information from more than 100 donors to a city-run holiday toy drive.
Phelicia Williams worked for the mayor for 10 months until she took another job last month.
The investigation started after a former employer told police Williams used a company credit card to make thousands of dollars in purchases.
A search of her apartment turned up photocopies of personal checks that police officers wrote to the toy drive.
The 26-year-old has not been charged.
The mayor's office is working with police to notify donors their credit may have been compromised.
