Fireworks Traffic Heads Up From Marin

Golden Gate National Recreation Area officials are warning those  planning to watch Fourth of July fireworks in the Marin Headlands that road  construction will cause more traffic congestion than usual and some people  may be turned away.
"Where people have traditionally come down there to see the  fireworks, it will be more difficult and they'll have to plan more," GGNRA  spokeswoman Alexandra Picavet said.
Road closures include Conzelman Road from McCullough Road to Field  Road, and East Road at Fort Baker. Conzelman Road may also be closed from  Alexander Avenue to McCullough Road.
The $8.7 million Project Headlands construction north of the  Golden Gate Bridge began this year and is expected to take four years to  complete, Picavet said.
The park's Nike Missile Site will be open 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  on July 3. Stephen Haller and John Martini, local historians and authors of  the book "The Last Missile Site," will be on hand to talk with visitors
