One year ago, the shuttered restaurant once known as PJ's Oyster Bed hosted a rat orgy.
Yes, the restaurant was closed at the time, but someone forgot to throw away the leftover seafood, and suddenly the kitchen was overrun by enormous rats in one of the most unappetizing situations ever photographed.
While the mess was eventually cleaned up, it was unclear as to who would next occupy the space. Now it appears that the new tenants will be George Karas and Rick Howard, the serial entrepreneurs from Harry's Bar on Fillmore.
The duo has already taken on similar rebirth projects at places like Bruno's and the Owl Tree. No word on whether or not the rats will be involved in the new project.
