A man was shot Tuesday night in a residential San Jose neighborhood while chasing two men who had snatched a woman's purse, police said today.
The woman was unloading her car in the 2200 block of Kenwood Avenue around 10:40 p.m. when two men approached her, grabbed her purse and ran, Officer Jermaine Thomas said.
When the woman screamed for help, a man who was in the area came outside and the two of them ran after the suspects, Thomas said.
The suspects shot at them and hit the man, who was taken to a hospital but is expected to survive.
The suspects were wearing dark clothes and appeared to be in their 20s but police don't have a detailed description of them.
