Green Day’s Mike Dirnt to Open a New Cafe

Paying homage to the legendary rock group the Clash can't fail.

In the case of Green Day bassist, Mike Dirnt, opening a second cafe under the name of the 1979 hit "Rudy Can't Fail" (sure the song spelled it Rudie) is not a bad idea.

Dirnt is opening a sequel to his popular Emeryville cafe in the Fox Theatre in Oakland, according to SF Gate's Inside Scoop.

The cafe will be on the left side of the revamped theater and it will have a similar diner meets punk rokc concept to its Emeryville counterpart.

The new location will feature 150-seats and 10-person private dining booths and it will be open until 1 a.m. every night, like the Emeryville location.

The cafe is on target to open towards the end of May.
