Stanford University public safety officials said a man entered the rooms of two female students Friday morning and lifted the covers off their beds while they were sleeping.
The first encounter occurred at 3 a.m. and the second between 6 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. at a residence in the 1000 block of Campus Drive.
In the first case, the woman screamed when the man lifted her covers off and she scared the man away, public safety officials said. The woman then searched the house for about 30 minutes and saw the man again.
From a distance, she asked him who he was and he ran out of the building.
In the second case, the woman chased the man out of the residence and into the parking lot. He was last seen running toward Campus Drive, according to public safety officials.
The suspect is described as an 18- to 30-year-old man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky build and short brown hair. Officers said the man has brown eyes and he was wearing a gray shirt.
Anyone with information about the incidents is being asked to call the Stanford University Department of Public Safety at (650) 329-2413.
