Yes, everyone is moving to Oakland. And to Berkeley, Alameda, and San Leandro, too.
A net of 15,367 people moved to the East Bay county between July 1, 2012, and July 1, 2013, the biggest single increase of any county in the state, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Santa Clara County was a close second, with a net gain of 11,537 migrants, according to statistics with the state Department of Finance.
San Francisco County also had an increase, of 5,423 "newcomers," not counting new births.
In terms of cities, Oakland, Fremont, Dublin, and Hayward had the most new people, according to the newspaper.
It seems affordable housing topped the list of peoples' needs and was the reason for the surge in East Bay residents.
