Man Dressed as Security Guard Accused of Sexual Assault on Mountain View Woman

A San Jose security guard was arrested after he was accused of sexually battering a woman he gave a ride to early Saturday morning in Mountain View, according to police.

At about 3:15 a.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old Mountain View woman accepted a ride back to her residence from a man in a Bayside Security guard uniform, police said.

When the car she was traveling in with a friend broke down, police said, a man in what appeared to be a patrol car offered assistance. As the victim rode back to her house with the man, he allegedly sexually battered her. Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Luis Diaz.

Diaz was found in his uniform at an apartment complex after officers spotted the car he gave the victim a ride in, police said. He was arrested on a count of sexual battery and was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail, police said.

Anyone who has more information, or anyone who may have been a victim in a similar incident, is asked to call Mountain View police at (650) 903-6364.

Police are advising residents to be aware that officers always carry department-issued identification and a badge when conducting official business.
