There was water aplenty in San Francisco, Santa Cruz and Oakland last week, but Marin has declared a drought.

Rain fell all around the Bay Area, and reservoirs in the North Bay filled up after the storm last week. Nevertheless, the Board of Supervisors in Marin County declared an official drought emergency at its meeting Tuesday, according to the Marin Independent Journal.

This move means more for money that it does for rain -- the move means the county's farmers are eligible for federal funding to help dairy ranchers, the newspaper reported.

Dairy ranchers in West Marin lost "50 percent... of livestock forage" because of a lack of rain, according to the newspaper. Stacy Carlsen, the county Agricultural Commissioner, said dairy farmers were "hurting" in January and February, the newspaper reported.

The move to declare a drought was made with no comment, the newspaper reported.
