The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will take down unofficial anti-transphobia sinage that started appearing on the N-Judah line last week.
The signs, which are printed to look like official Muni sinage reads: Muni ALERT.
Under a large "N" sign — which stands for the N-Judah Muni train — it says:
“Transphobia Prohibited At all stops between Ocean Beach and Caltrain,” and “We’re still f___ here. If you fuck with us, we’ll f__ you up. Be gay, do crime.”
After NBC Bay Area reached out to Muni with a tip from a viewer Wednesday, a Muni spokesperson said: "We learned of this today and have not received any prior complaints. We will take them down as we see them."
The San Francisco Examiner reported that Muni is considering "legal action" against the person or organization behind the signs.
“This is an illegal use of the Muni logo and of our Muni vehicles,” SFMTA spokesperson Paul Rose said in a statement to the newspaper. “Legal action is also an option, if needed."

The person behind the sinage declined to be named in an interview with the Examiner but told the paper that she was a "transit geek" and was inspired by the Pride Train movement in New York city.
