The devastation is everywhere you look in Paradise: Homes are gone, schools are gone, banks are gone, stores are gone. "Everything's gone," was how one resident of this once-lush mountain town described it, in the inferno that swallowed it on a November night, making it the state's deadliest and most destructive wildfire.
"It's the nightmare of nightmares," another said. "Words can't describe it."
