An elderly woman was injured in a robbery near a church Monday morning in Antioch, police said.
The 82-year-old woman was walking near St. Ignatius Church on the 3300 block of Contra Loma Blvd. Around 7:49 a.m. when a male suspect pulled her purse off her shoulder, according to Sgt. Steve Bias.
The woman fell to the ground as a result of the robbery and suffered a minor head injury, Bias said. She was treated and released at a local hospital.
The suspect was described as being 30 to 40 years old. He was around 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
The suspect was seen jumping into a small light gray vehicle, possibly a two-door, driven by another suspect. The vehicle was last seen driving east on Longview Road from Contra Loma Boulevard.
