Police Respond to Shots Reportedly Fired Near Candlestick Point in SF

Police responded to reports of shots fired near Candlestick Point in San Francisco on Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The report came in about 5:10 p.m. on police activity that started on San Francisco city streets and continued onto southbound Highway 101 as far south as San Bruno, the CHP said.

The CHP initially reported there were shots fired on the freeway.

At about 5:55 p.m., San Francisco police officers met with CHP officers on southbond Highway 101, where they had a vehicle with a person who had been shot earlier on a street near the Candlestick area, police said.

Details of the victim's injuries were not provided.

The police activity brought southbound traffic to a standstill.
