San Jose Promotes Shopping Local on Small Business Saturday

San Jose, along with hundreds of other cities nationwide, is encouraging residents to shop local on "Small Business Saturday." The Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30th is dedicated to supporting San Jose's small businesses and fueling the local economy.

The city has more than 51,000 small businesses that contribute a large portion of the San Jose economy, according to the Office of Economic Development.

"San Jose's small businesses play a key role in creating jobs for our residents and adding to the vibrancy of our community," said San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo.

The initiative is sponsored by the San Jose Office of Economic Development's work2future program. More information can be found at ShopSanJose.biz.
