South Bay PD Try To Find Rapists With Hardly Any Case Info

Attack Victim Refuses To Help Officers Identify Suspects

Gilroy police are searching for men who they say committed a rape in the city on Tuesday.

Detectives said they responded at about 1 p.m. on Tuesday to Valley Medical Center in San Jose where a 17-year-old girl had arrived at the ER with a minor head injury

The girl had reported to hospital staff that she was raped in Gilroy.

Detectives interviewed the girl and a possible witness.

She said that she was from San Jose and that she and a friend called a number of men from Gilroy on Monday to pick them up and give them a ride to a party in Gilroy, according to police.

While in Gilroy, the girl was raped at an unknown resident by men that she described as "gang members," officers reported.

At that point during the interview the victim said she did not wish to work with police to identify her attackers and would not provide officers with any more information, including the location of the crime, number of attackers or their descriptions.

Anyone who might have information that could help in the pursuit of the attackers is asked to call the Gilroy Police Department.
