A special seahorse exhibit will open at the Monterey Bay Aquarium this spring.
The exhibit, "The Secret Lives of Seahorses," will feature more than 15 species of seahorses, sea dragons, pipehorses and pipefish, aquarium officials said.
The purpose of the exhibit, which opens April 6, is to highlight the various habitats in which seahorses live, and share stories about the threats they face in the wild.
"Seahorses are wonderful ambassadors for ocean conservation because they live in the most endangered habitats in the world -- coral reefs, sea grass beds and mangrove forests," said Ava Ferguson, the exhibit's senior developer.
