Three Arrested For Fatal Shooting in Antioch; Suspects, Victim Identified

Antioch police have arrested three people in connection with the fatal shooting Monday night of a San Francisco man.

The homicide on Hudson Court occurred at 11:18 p.m., when an officer on patrol in the area heard a gunshot and saw a vehicle without its lights on driving away, according to police.

The officer tried to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued, police said.

The pursuit ended and three people in the car were detained when the suspect vehicle crashed into the garage of a home in the 1700 block of Mahogany Way in Antioch, according to police. No one in the home was injured.

When officers checked the area where they heard the gunshot, they found the body of San Francisco resident Christopher Monico, 21, with an apparent gunshot wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have arrested Tony Belfield, a 33-year-old Antioch resident, on suspicion of murder, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, being a felon in possession of ammunition and violation of parole.

Kimberly Saunders, a 36-year-old Antioch resident, and Richard Ludlow, an 18-year-old Daly City resident, were both arrested on suspicion of murder and accessory to murder. Ludlow was also arrested on suspicion of felony evading police.

Belfield's bail was set at $1.1 million for the murder and related charges, but he also has a no bail hold due to the parole warrant, police said. Bail was set for Saunders at $1.5 million and for Ludlow at $1.55 million.
