Fire crews were battling a two-alarm fire that caused a roof to collapse at a building in West Oakland early Tuesday morning, according to the fire department.

The blaze was burning at a two-story building in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Way, and firefighters had to pull back after heavy flames caused a roof to collapse, fire officials said.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was inside the building.
