Bono and The Edge are back in the Bay Area tonight with U2's 360 Tour.
A back injury sidelined this concert in Oakland for an entire year, but the wait is now over for thousands of people who will be flocking to the Oakland Coliseum Tuesday night.
Bono underwent spinal surgery in May 2010, which caused the band to postpone its North American leg which began in Barcelona in 2009. The tour is now in its final leg which became the highest grossing rock tour of all time a dozen shows ago and the group now have only 16 shows to go.
The 360 tour happens on a stage called "The Claw" which is a 150-foot circular structure featuring a massive external structure that takes four days to build.
Each location is different one assembling The Claw. Workers found an extra 1,000 or so seats once they have it put together on Monday which opened up new tickets for fans who waited until the last minute to make it to Tuesday's show.
The Chronicle put together a list of songs that it expects the band to play from, including a compilation of set lists from recent concerts.
A venture capitalist is the opening act. Roger McNamee's band Moonalice is described as a psychedelic rock and blues jam band.
"We're delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play," U2 manager Paul McGuinness said when it announced the Oakland concert. "It hasn't been easy to accomplish this and I'd like to thank the managers of the many venues and sports teams across North America and Live Nation Global Touring for their help and cooperation in making this complex new plan possible.
