Vigil to Be Held for Victim in Unsolved 1996 Strangulation

A vigil will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday for the victim in an unsolved 1996 strangulation case in the unincorporated town of Crockett.

Priscilla Ann Lewis was a 21-year-old Vallejo resident who was found dead Sept. 24, 1996 in the basement bathroom in the Valona Square Mall, where she worked as a waitress at Four Corners Pizza at 628 Second Ave. in Crockett.

There were four businesses in the mall at the time and they shared the restrooms in the basement.

"Detectives interviewed dozens of people during this investigation and examined numerous pieces of evidence," according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, but the unsolved case remains open.

The vigil will be held at 628 Second Ave.
