Old Sacramento Chocolate Week

A chocolate scavenger hunt, Choc-La-Trivia, and other sweet-toothsome to-dos fill the flavorful calendar.

DEVOURING A SQUARE OF CHOCOLATE... is usually enough. The satisfaction, the taste, the bitterness, the sweetness, the mouth-feel, and how beautiful the candy is can all enhance the bonbon-enjoying experience. Such an event is popping up in Old Sacramento over a number of days in May, and the name reveals the nougat-centered, caramel-topped focus. It's the...

3RD ANNUAL OLD SACRAMENTO CHOCOLATE WEEK, and it returns from Monday, May 8 through Sunday, May 14 (which, yes, is Mother's Day, should you want to weave a confection-themed outing into the holiday). The historical, river-adjacent district will feature a number of goings-on at various shops, from a Chocolate Scavenger Hunt starting at the Sacramento Visitors Center to Chocolate Museum Day at the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum.

A CHOCOLATE ARCADE NIGHT, Choc-La-Trivia, a chocolate turtle demo, Beignet Day, and a chance to pair chocolates with wine — think white chocolate Chambord mousse in a chocolate cup alongside Rodney Strong chardonnay — are also on the dessert-dotted schedule. Just go over all of the gooey goodness, before calling upon Old Sac, to make sure you time your visit to the district to the things you'd like to do. Happy chocolate-ing, devotees of tasty treats.
